Sights and Sounds of Revival
  • Sunday September 16th was a day of dedication and proclamations at New Journey Church in Edgewater, MD.  They cancelled the regular Sunday morning service and went to the Bay for a cookout, baby dedication, and water baptism.  54 people were in attendance with many friends and first time guests.  It was a great time of relaxation and building relationships with people in such a spectacular setting.  They had the “most awesome water baptism service” with 13 people baptized.  Many others were baptized after a total rededication of their life to Jesus Christ and to His service.  This was definitely a “day that the Lord had made.”  They feel this is just the beginning for what God has planned for New Journey and their community .

Around the Region
  • Charles Long, Sr. reports that the young men from the Booker Street Church of God held a Boys Camp on August 24-26 at the “Gun and Rod” Campground with over 30 boys ages 5 to 18 and 9 men attending.  They held a very exciting worship service on Saturday with one man saved and many blessed.  The minister spoke dynamically into their lives during this special retreat together.
  • Reverend Jack Payne reports that the children of the Christian School of the Boonsboro-Tri-State Church of God have adopted the Kibera Children’s Orphanage (Jim and Debra Womble) to support as their missions project this year.  They had pledged to donate $100 monthly and have so far received over $300 in just 2 weeks.  To God be the glory!
