EVANGELISM Update - Week of July 7, 2008

From the Director

Summer is a bittersweet time!  All of us enjoy being able to get out and have some fun.  Pastors are especially challenged to keep everything balanced. People are in and out of church.  Vacations, getaways, reunions, family time all take people out of services.  Although it is summer, pastors try to keep the church exciting and moving forward.

Now is the time to begin planning for the fall.  What are you going to do to get folks back to church?  What kind of special outreach or outreaches are you going to do?  What kind of special days are you going to sponsor?  Remember it is only about eight weeks to Labor Day.  Labor Day – kids will be back in school.  Labor Day – things will hopefully begin to settle down.  Be ready to give it a big push for fall!

Target City - Wilmington, Delaware

Wilmington, Delaware is a city of approximately 72,000 people.  The greater Wilmington area has a population of over 400,000 people.  The Church of God presence in Wilmington and the surrounding area must be increased.  Wilmington is a very diverse city that needs a strong Pentecostal message.  You are asked to join in prayer that the Lord of the harvest will raise up laborers into His harvest.  If you or someone you know is equal to the challenge contact the Evangelism and Home Missions Department about planting a new field work in Wilmington.

Let us know what your church is doing!
